What is V9 Redirect Virus?
V9 Redirect Virus or V9.com virus is a malicious domain that deceives users by pretending to be a legitimate search engine. Many inexperienced users have been cheated by the browse hijacker because it looks really professional at the first sight.
With a Google search bar lying at the centre of the web page, V9.com website appears to be a legal browser plug-in that can provide some useful services to users. However, when using this fake search engine, you will be redirected to some unwanted websites full of advertisements and there are many Trojan viruses or malicious programs lurking in these websites. Once installed on your system, this stubborn virus will dominate your computer system by introducing various malicious codes. It will attack all your browsers including Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, compulsorily changing the operating system settings of these browsers. It will also decelerate your computer and damage your computer system by corrupting the Windows Registry and important windows system files. It enables the hacker can record your computer using trace and intrude your computer to steal your privacy via the virus. For these reasons V9 virus should be wiped out as soon as possible.

How to remove V9 redirect virus from your system?
1. Restart your computer and get in Safe Mode with Networking.
Restart your computer and press the F8 function key repeatedly while it boots. When the Windows Advanced Options Menu appears, select “Safe Mode with Networking” and press the Enter button on your keyboard.
2. Open the Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + ESC together.
In the Windows Task Manager, find out the process by name.random.exe related to V9.com virus. Select it and click on the End Process button to kill the process.
3. Remove all cookies in your affected browsers.
a. For Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon and select “Options”. Click the “Under the Bonnet” tab, locate the “Privacy” section and click the “Clear browsing data” button. Select “Delete cookies and other site data” to remove all cookies displayed.
b. For Internet Explorer, click the “Tools” button, navigate to “safety” and then click “delete browsing history”. Tick the “cookies” box, then click “delete”.
c. For Mozilla Firefox, click on Tools, select Options and choose Privacy. Click “Remove individual cookies”. In the Cookies panel, click on “Show Cookies” and hit on the “Remove All Cookies” button.
4. Remove all add-ons and extensions.
a. For Google Chrome: click on the wrench icon, select Tools and choose Extensions. Uninstall all recently installed extensions.
b. For Mozilla Firefox: click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel. Select the add-on of V9.com and click the Remove button.
c. For Internet Explorer 8: Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons. Under Show, click All add-ons. Choose the add-on of V9.com and click “More information”. Click “Remove” in the window that appears. Type the password of an account that has Administrator permissions if prompted and press the “Enter” key.
d. For Internet Explorer 7: Click the Tools button, point to Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons. In the Show list, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons. Click the malicious add-on and then click Disable. When you are finished, click OK.
5. Show hidden files and folders.
a. Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
b. Click the View tab.Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and then click OK.
5. Find out and remove the associated files of V9.com virus.

6. Open the registry editor and browse to the following registry files and remove them.
c.When the Registry Editor window appears, find out the following registry entries and then delete them:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \ random
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \ y6bqzvrlas
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\”Shell” = “[random].exe”
7. Restart your computer to normal mode to completely remove V9 redirect virus.
